We’ve heard from a couple of customers that they’ve started to see an extra $2 “international transaction” fee being applied to their monthly charges with Mailmanagr. We’ve been in touch with our payment processor, 2Checkout, about these charges and they’ve been very helpful in explaining that these are fees that Visa and MasterCard have started charging when one party in a transaction is outside the US (in this case, that would be Mailmanagr — we’re Canadian). We’re not completely clear on whether this is just affecting US customers, or all customers, we’re still collecting information.
We’re looking at ways of resolving this, short of re-incorporating in the US, but these fees might be here to stay. We’re not trying to mislead anyone when we state the pricing for Mailmanagr is $7 per month if you choose to go the paid route. That is actually what we’re charging. The extra $2 fee came as a surprise to us too!
We’ll update this as we learn more, but as of now, it seems that only Visa and MasterCard are charging these fees (American Express appears to not charge anything extra).
